All Star Registration Open!

Registration for All Stars is now open and will close on Friday May 10th.   See below for the link to register your player(s).  Please note, registering your child does not ensure a spot on the team but it does ensure that if your child is nominated by their Manager, they are eligible for the team.

Below is an explanation of All Stars and the expectations AVLL has for the families and players participation Please read in full.

All Stars is different from TOC (Tournament of Champions), in that we take the top 12-13 players from each Division and form a special “All-Star” team. These teams will then play against other “All-Star” teams from other leagues in the District, and then if successful, move on to Sectional, State and Regional Tournaments. League age 12 (Majors) have the opportunity to continue to the Little League World Series if they keep winning.

All Stars is different from the regular Little League season in that it changes from developmental play to competitive play with a focus on winning. This means each team practices 4-5 times per week and all players are required to attend. There is no minimum play rule except for continuous batting. This means, depending on their ability, some players may only get 1-2 plate appearances per game with no playing time on defense. Positions and playing time are determined by what the Manager sees at practice.

All Stars expenses and volunteering: All-Stars is a new season and with that comes additional expenses for registration which includes a uniform. There are other All-Star team expenses (team events, coaches gifts, etc) that could be incurred. Your family will be expected to travel to games, especially if the team wins and continues on to Sections (within Orange County) and State (within California), and possibly beyond.  Each All-Star player is required to do multiple volunteer shifts at games hosted at Woodfield.  Similar to the regular season, All-Stars is managed and run solely by volunteers so there are volunteer asks to do such as snack bar, field prep, scorekeeping, game announcing, scoreboard, etc. Each family will need to provide a $300 Volunteer Shift Deposit check which is destroyed after completing your volunteer shifts.

IMPORTANT
AVLL expects families participating in All Stars to refrain from vacations that cause players to miss practices as well as any strenuous activities before practices and game days. AVLL holds a high standard for its All Star teams and we’re proud of our success in District, Section and State tournaments over the years. All Stars is literally a full summer (late May, June, July and August if your team keeps winning) of Little League baseball and if you cannot commit your summer, please do not register your child.
